Halloween Crafts for Toddlers
Toddlers and preschoolers love Halloween for the candy, but there’s so much more they can do in the fall. Making crafts with these little ones is a great way to let them explore the world and learn new skills. Once you’re finished inside, get them out of the house for an afternoon of physical activity with moonwalks in Katy. Reserve your bounce house or obstacle course now from Jump & Joy Party Rentals for your autumn celebration. Use these ideas to keep your preschooler busy in the fall.
Make a Fall Collage
Take a nature walk. Let your child pick up leaves, sticks, rocks, and other treasures along the way. Once you get back home, glue these items to posterboard for a remembrance of the day. Encase fall leaves in wax paper or saran to protect them.
Painting and Stamping
The fall harvest provides interesting tools to use as stamps. Slice an apple in half and dip it in paint, then stamp on paper or fabric. Use potatoes, squash, or other vegetables with different textures and patterns to make interesting designs. Leaves make nice prints too.
Make a Fall Wreath
Take a paper plate and cut out the center. Let your toddler decorate the outside of the paper plate with tissue paper in fall colors for a wreath to hang on your door. You could also select pretty leaves from the trees in your yard or silk flowers to add texture and depth to the wreath.
Decorate Gourds
Create a 3-D collage of gourds or pumpkins for your front porch. Instead of carving them, use paints and glitter along with other craft supplies you have around your home to decorate them. Pom poms, buttons, string, yarn, or fabric can be easily manipulated by kids to make unique faces for these fall squashes and you don’t have to worry about them trying to use knives or other sharp objects to make designs.
Spiders and Creepy Crawlers
Using pipe cleaners, pom poms, and googly eyes that you can find in craft stores, make spiders and other types of bugs and crawlers. Just twist pipe cleaners together, glue on a big pom, then add some eyes. Hot glue is quicker, but regular glue lets your preschooler do the work.
Enjoy the Great Outdoors
One of the great things about fall is the ability to be outside without melting in the summer heat. Get outside with moonwalks in Katy that let your kids bounce around safely. Let the whole neighborhood come over and play for an afternoon of fun.
